This page gives you information about connecting the ViewStation to a
network.
Ethernet Networks
The
ViewStation is designed to work on a standard Ethernet with a
Twisted-Pair connector. Thinwire and ThickWire connectors are also
available.
The ViewStation also works with
IEEE 802.3 Ethernet networks. The IEEE 802.3 network protocol is
automatically detected by the ViewStation.
Token Ring Networks
The ViewStation can be optionally equipped
for a Token Ring network with a PCMCIA interface card. The ViewStation
can support Ethernet and Token Ring interfaces simultaneously.
Serial Line Network Connections
The ViewStation can connect
directly to a host computer with its serial interface, or it can use the
serial interface for TCP/IP service connections with PPP, SLIP, or
CSLIP protocols.
