ViewStation with 220 VAC Power

This page describes ViewStation operation with 220 Volt power.

ViewStation 115 or 230 Volt Power
The HDS ViewStation can operate in either 115 Volt/60 Hz or 230 Volt/50Hz power installations. If the ViewStation is ordered with a 230 Volt configuration, the base and monitor are set and tested at 230 Volts at the factory.

The ViewStation base unit automatically detects the power input as 115 or 230 Volts and operates with either. All that is needed for 230 Volt operation of the ViewStation base is an adapter for the power cable.

The display monitor must also be configured for 230 Volt operation.

You may use the convenience outlet on the back panel of the ViewStation base for connecting the monitors to the base. The outlet provides the same voltage as output as the ViewStation receives as input. This outlet is especially useful in 230 Volt situations because it allows you to use the standard plug and cable provided with the monitor rather than having to get cable adapters for both base and monitor.

The convenience outlet is rated for a 2.5 Amp 120 VAC power load, which is higher than any of the standard ViewStation monitors require. If you substitute another monitor, or use the outlet for another device, be sure you stay within the 2.5 Amp power rating.

The fuse on the back panel of the ViewStation base unit is rated at 4 Amps for 115 Volt operation (this is a Littlefuse 239004). For 230 Volt operation, the fuse should be changed to a 2 Amp fuse (Littlefuse 239002). A spare fuse is included in the fuse holder.
