This page describes FTP operation on HP host systems.
Typical
HP installations start the FTP daemon, so you are ready to use FTP as
soon as you set up usernames and passwords.
If you have to
start FTP, there is a startup line for FTP present in the
/etc/inetd.conf file.
#ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/etc/in.ftpd inftpd
2. Remove the comment character ( # ) from the beginning of
the line.
3. Restart the inetd process. Find the process identification
number (PID) from the following command: ps -aux |
grep inetd
Then issue this command: kill -1 [PID]
This restarts the inetd process and starts the FTP
daemon.
