This page describes starting FTP on your host
computer. See also other pages specific for various hosts.
Starting
FTP
A startup line for FTP is present in the /etc/inetd.conf
file, but is often commented out. #ftp stream tcp
nowait root /usr/etc/in.ftpd inftpd
2. Remove the comment character ( # ) from the beginning of
the line.
3. Restart the inetd process. Find the process identification
number (PID) from the following command: ps -aux |
grep inetd
Then issue this command: kill -1 [PID]
This restarts the inetd process and starts the FTP
daemon.
