To determine which version of Microsoft Chat you are using:
  1. On the Help menu, click About Microsoft Chat.
  2. In the About Microsoft Chat dialog box, information similar to the following example is displayed:

    Microsoft Chat 2.1a (4.71.2201)
    Copyright 1996-1998 Microsoft Corporation

  3. Look at the first line of text to determine the version number.
