SUMMARY

The version of ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), listed in the "Applies To" section, provides Binary Compatibility with ADO 2.0 through an ADO 2.0 Type Library named MSADO20.TLB.

MORE INFORMATION

A project that uses the ADO 2.0 Type Library only uses interfaces, both externally and internally, that are available in ADO 2.0.

Using the ADO 2.0 Type Library allows an application to use ADO 2.0 interfaces internally. This means a project can be compiled on a computer with ADO 2.1 installed and it runs on a computer with only ADO 2.0 installed.

Microsoft recommends thoroughly testing applications in the target environment(s) for that application.
