"Path Too Long" Error Message |
Logon scripts, programs, or administrative tasks may generate a "Path too long" error message.
This behavior can occur if you accidentally log on with a user name that begins with a backslash (\).
To resolve this issue, log off and then log back on with the correct user name.
This behavior is by design.
The behavior described above can occur if you accidentally add a backslash
to be beginning of your user name when you log on.
This type of error condition is allowed by Windows because the backslash
is a separator and gets discarded during logon processing, but is
preserved otherwise. Some programs may have difficulty dealing with this
condition.
