SYMPTOMS
On Windows 98 ACPI systems the battery status, such as whether the battery
is charging or discharging, is slow to update.
CAUSE
Under Windows 98, a battery status change (that is, charging or
discharging) is not reflected in the user interface until the battery
driver polls for status. An event such as a power source change (for
example, AC attach or detach) typically triggers a General Purpose Event
(GPE) and cause the user interface to update immediately.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
