BUG: Incorrect File Extension Using ActiveX Document Wizard
Article ID: 193017
Article Last Modified on 1/8/2003
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Professional Edition
- Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Enterprise Edition
This article was previously published under Q193017
SYMPTOMS
When using the ActiveX Document Migration Wizard Add-in on a Standard EXE
application, using the Make command will, by default, create an EXE, even
when specifying a DLL with the wizard.
RESOLUTION
When building the component, set the correct extension for the component.
For example, if the wizard was used to create an ActiveX DLL, rename the
extension for the file ".dll" (without the quotes) to work around the
issue.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
