  • The "Apply the new color settings without restarting" option receives the focus (the dotted-line box), but is not selected.
  • The Apply button is pressed.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because there are two items associated with the ALT+A key combination:

  • The Apply button.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, use the appropriate method:

Use the Mouse

If you can use the mouse or another pointing device, click Apply or "Apply the new color settings without restarting" as appropriate.

Use the Keyboard

If you cannot use the mouse or another pointing device, and you want to click Apply, press the TAB key until the Apply button has the focus (has a dotted-line box around it), and then press ENTER. If you cannot use the mouse or another pointing device, and you want to click "Apply the new color settings without restarting," follow these steps:

  1. Press the TAB key until one of the "After I change color settings" options has the focus (has a dotted-line box around it).
  2. Press UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW to select "Apply the new color settings without restarting."
