SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to play an audio CD using the Deluxe CD Player utility
included in Plus! 98, you may experience any of the following symptoms:
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if your CD-ROM drive does not fully support Direct
Memory Access (DMA).
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, disable DMA on your CD-ROM drive. To do this,
follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click System.
- Click the Device Manager tab.
- Click the PLUS SIGN (+) next to CDROM to expand the branch.
- Click the CD-ROM drive you are using to play audio CDs, and then click
Properties.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Click to clear the DMA check box, and then click OK.
- Click Close. If you are prompted to restart the computer, do so.
