SYMPTOMS
When you use one of the Microsoft programs listed in the applies to
section of this article on a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0-based computer
with a Turtle Beach Malibu Surround 64 sound card, the sound card
may not detect the PC Pack Transmitter, even if the MIDI driver is
installed.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the external MIDI port on the sound card is
disabled.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, enable the external MIDI port. To do this, follow
these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click
Control Panel.
- Double-click Multimedia.
- On the Devices tab, click Add.
- Click MPU-401-Compatible Driver, and then click OK.
Insert your Windows NT CD-ROM if you are prompted to do so.
- Verify that the MIDI For CrystalWare Audio Driver settings match the
MIDI For MPU-401-Compatible Driver settings. To do this, follow these
steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click
Control Panel.
- Double-click Multimedia.
- On the Devices tab, double-click MIDI Driver And
Instruments.
- Double-click MIDI For CrystalWare Audio Driver, and then
click Settings
- On the MPU-401 tab, note the IRQ and Port Address
settings.
- Click OK.
- Double-click MIDI For MPU-401-Compatible Driver, and then
click Settings.
- Change the IRQ and Port Address settings to match
the IRQ and Port Addresssettings for MIDI For
CrystalWare Audio Driver if they do not already match.
- Click OK. If you are prompted to restart the computer,
click Yes.
