SYMPTOMS
When you start one of the ActiMates software titles listed in the applies
to section of this article and attempt to use it with the ActiMates PC Pack
Transmitter, you may experience any of the following symptoms:
- The ActiMates character does not interact with the software.
- The light on the PC transmitter does not blink.
- The computer stops responding (hangs).
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you are using a 16-bit Xpress Audio sound card
driver. The 16-bit Xpress Audio drivers do not support external MIDI, which
the PC Pack uses to communicate with the ActiMates Interactive characters.
The Xpress Audio driver is used by some computers with the Cyrix MediaGX
processor.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, contact Cyrix to inquire about obtaining a version
of the Xpress Audio driver that supports external MIDI.
