"Please Wait While Setup Searches for..." Message Appears

SYMPTOMS

When you double-click Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and then click the Windows Setup tab, you may receive the following message:

Please wait while Setup searches for installed components...

CAUSE

This issue occurs because when you double-click Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and then click the Windows Setup tab, a database of installed components is built. This message is displayed while the database is being built.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION
