Windows 95 Logo Screen Displayed on Windows 98-Based Computer

SYMPTOMS
When you start your Windows 98-based computer, the Microsoft Windows 95
logo screen may be displayed during the startup process.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur the Microsoft Windows 95 version of the Logo.sys
file is located in the root folder of drive C.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, rename the Logo.sys file located in the root folder.
Note that the Logo.sys file has the following file attributes: hidden, read only, and system. Before you can rename the Logo.sys file, type the following line at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:
attrib c:\logo.sys -s -h -r

MORE INFORMATION
Windows 98 no longer requires a Logo.sys file to display the default logo
screen when you start your Windows 98-based computer. If a valid Logo.sys
file exists in the root of drive C, it is used.
