SYMPTOMS

Fade through black transitions become slow and dithered when you are using color depths of more than 256 colors in PowerPoint.

RESOLUTION

Change the Colors setting in the Monitors Control Panel to 256 colors.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
