SYMPTOMS
After specifying a file name in step four of the Internet Assistant Wizard,
and then clicking "Select..." the file name does not appear in the Save As
dialog box.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Microsoft Excel always places a default name
in the Save As box.
WORKAROUND
To preserve the file name that you typed, following:
- In Step 4 of 4 of the Internet Assistant Wizard, click Select.
- In the Save As box of the file browser, change the name of the file to
the file name specified in step four of the Internet Assistant Wizard.
- Click Save. (This returns you to the Internet Assistant Wizard)
The complete file path and name now appear in the File Path box.
- Click Finish.
NOTE: If you click "Select..." in the Internet Assistant Wizard again, the
file browser resets the Save As name to a default name specified by the
program.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 98 for
Macintosh.
