Win16 Fonts Do Not Match

The information in this article applies to:

• Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition, version 4.0

SYMPTOMS

The 16-bit Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client fonts do not match their 32- bit RDP client equivalent. Therefore text is being sent as screen data.

CAUSE

The fonts themselves do not match. The same font drawn on a Win16 box is rendered differently in some cases than on WinNT or Win9x.

RESOLUTION

This behavior is by design.
