SYMPTOMS
When you start your computer after you upgrade to Windows 98, you may
receive a Matrox diagnostic utility error message that says you are using
an older version of DirectX. This behavior may occur even if you have the
current version of DirectX installed on your computer.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the Matrox diagnostic utility incorrectly
reports that versions of DirectX newer than version 3.0 are out of date.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, ignore the Matrox diagnostic utility error
message. To resolve this issue, contact Matrox to inquire about the
availability of a fix for this issue.
