SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Word 98 Macintosh Edition, when using the Track Changes feature, the revision marks are not printed even though you have selected the "Highlight changes in printed document" check box in the Highlight Changes dialog box.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you do not also select the Highlight Changes On Screen check box.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, point to Track Changes, and then click Highlight Changes.
  2. In the Highlight Changes dialog box, click to select the Highlight Changes On Screen check box. Click OK.
  3. Print the document.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The Highlight Changes dialog box contains three options:

  • Track changes while editing
  • Highlight changes on screen
  • Highlight changes in printed document
If Highlight Changes On Screen is not selected (checked), changes in the document are printed without the revision marks.
