SYMPTOMS

Host print jobs that begin with an initial Form Feed ('0x0C') command cause a blank page to be printed before the rest of the print job prints, even after you configure the FEEDIGNOREINITIAL for the print session using SNACFG.

CAUSE

SNACFG (SNA Server Command Line Configuration utility) includes support for a FEEDIGNOREINITIAL parameter for 3270 print sessions. This parameter is designed to suppress Form Feed commands at the beginning of host print jobs.

The Host Print service included with SNA Server was not designed to support the FEEDIGNOREINITIAL parameter; therefore, the parameter is ignored even when it is set to YES via SNACFG.
