SYMPTOMS

If you write a program that calls NtQueryVolumeInformationFile, you may receive the following stop error:

STOP: 0x0000001E (c0000005, 8010a611, 00000000, 00000738)

CAUSE

This problem is caused because too much data is being written from a buffer.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows NT 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition Service Pack 4.
