SYMPTOMS
In any of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, when you
try to save or load a FileFind query, nothing may appear to happen, or you may receive the following error message:
Run-time error '57':
Device I/O Error
CAUSE
This problem occurs when you use the Save and Load methods of the FileFind
object.
WORKAROUND
It is not possible to programmatically save or load these searches in
Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition. To work around this problem, manually
create or load your searches. To do so, follow these steps:
- On the File menu, click Open, and then click Find File.
- Under Search For, in the File Name box, type the name of the file you
want to search for.
- Click Save Search As. When prompted, type a name for the search, and
then click OK.
The search will now appear in the Saved Searches list.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
