SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to gain access to an administrative share (such as C$ or D$), you may receive the following error message even though you are logged on as a domain administrator on a server in the domain:

   The user has not been granted the requested logon type at this
   computer.

CAUSE

This error message can occur if the administrator account has been removed from the Local Administrators group on the validating domain controller.

RESOLUTION

At the primary domain controller, add the administrator account to the Local Administrators group and then synchronize the domain.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
