SYMPTOMS
When you click the
Font list on the
Formatting toolbar, you receive the following error message:
PowerPoint found an error it cannot correct.
When you click
OK, PowerPoint quits and all your unsaved work is lost.
CAUSE
This error message appears if you are running PowerPoint on a computer with Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, and the default printer on the computer is a network printer that is currently unavailable.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, add a local printer driver and set it as the
default printer. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
- Double-click the Add Printer icon to start the Add Printer Wizard.
- Follow the instructions in the wizard to add a local printer.
- When the Add Printer Wizard is completed, right-click the newly-added printer and then click Set as Default on the shortcut menu.
