SUMMARY

This article provides a detailed description of the bar code label affixed to the top of every package of Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition. If you believe that a customer has any of the following problems

  • A CD key issue, such as a missing or corrupted CD key
  • A manufacturing problem, such as a damaged CD
  • Any other issue for which the MTS Office Product Leads have requested this information
you may need to obtain specific bar code information from the customer and forward it to the MTS Office Product Leads (offleads@microsoft.com). This information allows Microsoft to determine where problems may be occurring in the software package manufacturing process.

MORE INFORMATION

A typical bar code label for Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition resembles the following:

   FOR DISTRIBUTION IN USA/CANADA ONLY 0 93007 82993 4

In this example, pipe symbols (|||) are used to represent the actual bar code strips on the label.

The following information is contained within the bar code label:

  • The Part Number. This number is the first line of text. In this example bar code, the Part Number is "021-02238."
  • The Work Order Number. This number immediately follows "WO" in the third line of text. In this example bar code, the Work Order Number is "215620-0218."
  • The Team. The Team is listed in the fifth line of text after "TEAM:". In this example bar code, the Team is "LA5."
After you have obtained the necessary information from the customer, forward it to the MTS Office Product Leads alias.
