SUMMARY

After you install the Symantec WinFax Starter Edition with Microsoft Outlook 98, you decide to upgrade to the full version of WinFax Pro. After you upgrade, you notice that the Fax numbers fields are empty when WinFax Pro is set to view information from your Outlook Contacts folder.

MORE INFORMATION

WinFax Pro 8.x looks for fax and voice numbers in the Outlook Contacts fields, Other Fax and Primary Phone. Because these fields are often unused, they appear unpopulated when viewed from the WinFax Pro phone book.

Symantec has supplied a utility, named Wfupdate.exe, that corrects the condition described above. The utility does the following: If a number exists in either of these fields, the utility does not overwrite that number.

The need for this utility exists only with the Contacts that are generated with the Internet Mail Only (IMO) installation option of Outlook. WinFax Pro 8.x phone book correctly displays these phone number fields in the Corporate/Workgroup (CW) installation of Outlook.

Downloading Wfupdate.exe

To obtain the WinFax Pro Update utility, use either of the following methods: The WinFax Pro Update utility is also available on the Outlook 98 compact disk in the ValuPack folder.
