Cannot Delete Messages from the Deleted Folder

• Microsoft Pocket Outlook, version 2.0
• Microsoft Windows CE Services, versions 2.0, 2.1
• Microsoft Windows CE versions 1.0, 2.0 for the Handheld PC

SYMPTOMS

When you delete an e-mail message from the Deleted folder in Microsoft Pocket Outlook, you may receive the following error message:

   One or more items could not be deleted. They may be service items that
   can be permanently deleted only while you are connected to the service.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you delete an e-mail message from the Inbox folder in Pocket Outlook while an attachment that was sent with that e-mail message is open.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, synchronize your Handheld PC (H/PC) with your desktop computer. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Connect your H/PC to your desktop computer.

2. On the H/PC, tap Start, tap Programs, tap Communication, and then tap ActiveSync.
