SYMPTOMS
When you click Microsoft Outlook on the Microsoft Office Manager (MOM) menu
bar, Microsoft Exchange is started.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Microsoft Office Manager is designed to add
the Microsoft Outlook menu item when Microsoft Office Manager detects that
the Microsoft Exchange or the Microsoft Outlook email client is installed
on the computer.
WORKAROUND
To use a menu item called "Microsoft Exchange" to start Microsoft Exchange,
follow these steps:
- Click Customize on the Microsoft Office Manager menu.
- Click to clear the Microsoft Outlook check box.
- Click New. Open the folder that contains Microsoft Exchange and select
Microsoft Exchange.
- Click Add.
- Close the Microsoft Office Manager window.
Microsoft Exchange is started when you click Microsoft Exchange on the
Microsoft Office Manager menu.
STATUS
This behavior is by design of Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition.
