OL98: No Matching Items Found Using "From" Criteria

An Outlook Contact, as viewed from the Address Book, can contain as many as 3 e-mail addresses and 3 Business Fax numbers. Outlook appends (e-mail), (email2), (email3), (Business Fax), (Business Fax2), or (Business Fax3) to the e-mail name to differentiate between the types of addresses. So a contact name in the Address Box can have any of these formats: A space between words in any of the search criteria fields is interpreted as an And function. In the example above, myname (E-mail), is interpreted as myname And (E-mail). Since all criteria must be matched for the search to succeed, and (E-mail) is never found in the From field of an e-mail message, the search will fail.

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

1. On the Tools menu, click Find Items.
2. In the box "Look for" click to select Messages.
3. Show names from Contacts.
4. Click From.
5. Click a name, then click From and then click OK.
6. Click Find Now.
