Changes in the Game Controllers Tool Are Not Saved

SYMPTOMS

When you change a setting in the Game Controllers tool in Control Panel, you may not be able to save your changes.


CAUSE

This problem can occur if you change a setting in the Game Controllers tool, close the tool, and then reopen the tool to make further changes.


RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, restart your computer. To do so, click Start, click Shut Down, click Restart (or Restart The Computer), and then click OK (or Yes).


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SideWinder Game Device software version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
