XL97: "Before You Save..." Error When Quitting Program

MORE INFORMATION

Microsoft Excel 97 (non-SR-1) does not display an alert message under the same circumstances, but you instead receive the Save As dialog box with the Save As Type option incorrectly set to "Microsoft Excel Workbook (*.xls)." The following tables describe when Excel 97 SR-1 and Excel 97 SR-2 display balloon alert messages for the default save.

In the following tables, an "UnSaved" workbook is one that you have not saved during the current session of Excel (for example, an unsaved new workbook or a workbook that you have changed but have not saved). A "Saved" workbook is one that you have saved during the current session. A workbook is considered "dirty" if you have made any changes to it in the current session.
