BUG: InternetSetOption Does Not Set Credentials for NTLM Scheme |
Q176439
The InternetSetOption API does not work for the following options when used
with NTLM authentication:
Use InternetErrorDlg to set credentials for NTLM scheme, or ensure that the client computer has Internet Explorer 4.0 installed.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed
at the beginning of this article. We are researching this bug and will post
new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes
available.
This problem has been fixed in the Internet Client SDK, synchronized with
Internet Explorer 4.0.
When the WinInet.dll from Internet Explorer 4.0 is used, the username and password can be set on handles returned from InternetConnect and HttpOpenRequest.
