SYMPTOMS

When you test the SideWinder Force Feedback Pro, the joystick may not react when you are testing the force feedback effects.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you do not have your hand placed around the joystick. The SideWinder Force Feedback Pro has two optical sensors that detect your hand. If you are not holding the joystick, it does not play the force feedback effects.

RESOLUTION

Place your hand around the SideWinder Force Feedback Pro when you test forces or when you play a game with force effects.

The SideWinder Force Feedback Pro does not play force feedback events if the sensors are not covered to prevent the joystick from playing the effects unattended.
