Cannot Find Files on a CD-ROM Using a Text String Search

SYMPTOMS
When you try to search for files on a CD-ROM by searching for a specific
text string, you may not find any files.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if you are using the Windows Desktop Update
component of Internet Explorer 4.0.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, you must uninstall the Windows Desktop Update
component of Internet Explorer 4.0. For information about uninstalling the

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4.0 for Windows NT. We are researching this problem and will post
new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes
available.
MORE INFORMATION
This problem does not occur when you try to search for files on a hard
disk or removable drive.
