SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to connect to MSN, The Microsoft Network, you may receive the following error message:

    Msndc.exe caused an invalid page fault in module unknown.

CAUSE

Some components of MSN Quick View may be damaged or missing.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the following steps:

  1. Right-click Start, and then click Open.

  2. Double-click the Programs folder.

  3. Double-click the Startup folder.

  4. Right-click the MSN Quick View shortcut icon, and then click Delete.

  5. Restart the computer.

  6. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.

  7. In the Named box, type "msndc.exe" (without quotation marks), and then click Find Now.

  8. Double-click the Msndc.exe file in the list of found files.

  9. Insert the MSN CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. If the Auto Insert Notification option is turned on, close the Welcome To MSN window that opens on the desktop.

  10. Double-click My Computer,

  11. Right-click the MSN (CD-ROM drive) icon, and then click Explore.

  12. Double-click the Msnsetup folder.

  13. Double-click the Compnts folder.

  14. Double-click the Coreui.exe file. Follow the instructions on the screen, and accept all default settings.

  15. Close all open windows, and then restart the computer.
