portion of the Setup program starts, exit the Gravis Setup
program.
- Restart the computer. If you receive the following error message:

- If you are prompted to restart the computer, click
Yes.
If you do not have sound in Windows, you may be experiencing a resource
conflict. The Gravis Ultrasound card has jumper settings for Sound Blaster
compatibility which may conflict with your current settings. Refer to your
sound card documentation for further details.
You must now install the external MIDI port in Windows. To do so, use
the following steps:
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type system.ini, and
then click OK.
- Add the following line to the [drivers] section of the System.ini
file:

this, use the following steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings and then click
Control Panel.
- Double-click Multimedia.
- On the Advanced or Devices tab, double-click MIDI
Devices And Instruments.
- Click the Ultrasound MIDI Output Port, and then click

Ultrasound card listed in Device Manager. If the settings do not
match, manually change the settings to match the Windows settings
listed in Device Manager.
- Click OK or Close until you return to Windows.
- If you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
Ultrasound PnP
This is a Plug and Play sound card and Windows should automatically
install the correct drivers and run the Gravis Setup program. When you
are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
If Windows does not detect the card, you can download an EEPROM flash
utility from the Gravis Web site to update the card with current Plug
and Play information.
As this sound card uses a very high volume of system resources, an
Interrupt conflict is not unlikely. If the card does not function properly
after you restart the computer, use the following steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click
Control Panel.
- Double-click System.
- On the Device Manager tab, double-click Sound, Video And
Game Controllers.
- Double-click the listing for Ultrasound Plug and Play Synth
Codec.
- On the Resources tab, change the Interrupt Request
setting to a value that is not in use by another device.
