SYMPTOMSWhen you try to install Internet Explorer 4.0, Setup may not start, or you may receive the following error message:
Setup cannot upgrade the current version of Internet Explorer. You must Uninstall it before you can install this version of Internet Explorer. Setup cannot continue.In addition, there may be no TrueType fonts listed in the Fonts folder.
CAUSEThis behavior can occur if you have removed a previous installation of Internet Explorer 4.0 using the Ieremove.exe tool.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, follow these steps:
MORE INFORMATIONIeremove.exe is a tool included with Internet Explorer 4.0 to help remove Internet Explorer if you cannot remove it using the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel. For information about how to use the Ieremove.exe tool, see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
