The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf you attempt to move a Start menu folder that appears on the Programs menu or a menu below the Programs menu into itself, the following error message is displayed:
Cannot move <menu>: The destination folder is the same as the source folder.When you click OK, the menu that you attempted to move may no longer appear on the Start menu.
RESOLUTIONTo work around this problem, restart the computer. After you restart the computer, the menu that you attempted to move appears again.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 for Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONTo move a menu that appears on the Programs menu or a menu below the Programs menu to a different location, drag the menu to the location in which you want it to appear. Note that you cannot move a menu into itself.
