SYMPTOMSWhen running soft -R with the -j option in SOFTIMAGE 3D v3.51, it eventually causes soft -R to exit or hang.
CAUSESoftimage has found a memory leak when you run soft -R -j. If you restart soft -R with the same parameters, you will encounter the same problem. For example, if you know that soft -R crashed at frame 100 in a sequence of 1 to 1000, do not restart soft -R with -j -s 1 1000 1 because it will go through 100 skips.
RESOLUTIONThe workaround is to use a script that renders with -j in increments such as the following example: soft -R -j -s 1 100 1 soft -R -j -s 101 200 1 soft -R -j -s 201 300 1 etc.
STATUSThis problem is fixed in SOFTIMAGE 3D v3.7.
