SYMPTOMSCustom changes to a folder may not be reflected in My Computer or Windows Explorer. This behavior can occur whether you use the Customize This Folder command or you edit the Folder.htm file manually.
CAUSEThis behavior can occur when the folder you are trying to customize has been copied or moved to a different location after it was originally customized.
RESOLUTIONTo work around this problem, perform the following steps:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Internet Explorer 4.0 Platform Preview 1. This problem does not occur with Internet Explorer 4.0 Platform Preview 2. To obtain Internet Explorer 4.0 Platform Preview 2, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/ie/ie40/ MORE INFORMATIONWhen you customize a folder, the Desktop.ini file references the Folder.htm file using its full path name. If the folder is then moved to a new location, the original Folder.htm file is no longer available. If the folder is copied to a new location, the Folder.htm file is still available in the original location and is used instead of the Folder.htm file in the new folder location.
