Internet Explorer 3.02 Problems After Installing Script Debugger

Last reviewed: April 4, 1997
Article ID: Q166399
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.02 for Windows 95
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.02 for Windows NT 4.0

SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft Script Debugger for Internet Explorer on a computer on which Internet Explorer 3.02 is installed, the new security features included with Internet Explorer 3.02 may not function properly.

CAUSE

Script Debugger is not completely compatible with Internet Explorer 3.02. When you install Script Debugger, some of the files that were originally installed by Internet Explorer are overwritten. Because Script Debugger is not compatible with Internet Explorer 3.02, many of the new security features in Internet Explorer 3.02 no longer function properly after Script Debugger is installed and the Internet Explorer files are overwritten.

RESOLUTION

To restore the new security features after you have installed Script Debugger on a computer running Internet Explorer 3.02, you should remove Script Debugger, and then reinstall Internet Explorer 3.02. For information about obtaining Internet Explorer, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
