The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word 97 for Windows

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to set the insertion point using the Flags property constant, wdSelAtEOL, the insertion point is not set.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

The Flags property, as described in Visual Basic Help, returns or sets properties of the selection. For the wdSelAtEOL constant, Help further states:

   The wdSelAtEOL constant is functionally equivalent to the IPAtEndOfLine
   property.

Running the following example Visual Basic for Applications code returns False where it should return True if the line the insertion point is in meets the criteria for IPAtEndOfLine:

   Selection.Flags = wdSelAtEOL
   MsgBox Selection.IPAtEndOfLine

For more information about IPAtEndOfLine, from the Visual Basic for Applications Editor, click the Office Assistant, type "IPAtEndOfLine," click Search, and then click to view "IPAtEndOfLine Property."

For more information about the Flags Property, from the Visual Basic for Applications Editor, click the Office Assistant, type "Flags Property," click Search, and then click to view "Flags Property."

NOTE: If the Assistant is hidden, click the Office Assistant button on the Standard toolbar. If Microsoft Help is not installed on your computer, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
