SYMPTOMS

If you try to install Internet Explorer 4.0 on a Windows 3.x-based computer, you receive the following error message;

   This program cannot be run in DOS mode

CAUSE

Internet Explorer 4.0 is not currently compatible with Windows 3.x.

RESOLUTION

To install Internet Explorer 4.0, you must be using Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0.
