Open for editing from Word Viewer creates instance of Word

To open a file for editing, you must have Microsoft Word installed on your computer. To open a file for editing from inside Microsoft Word Viewer, follow these steps:

1. Open the document in Word Viewer. To do so, on the File menu, click Open and then select the document that you want to open.
2. After the document is open in Word Viewer, you can edit it in Microsoft Word. To do this, click Open for editing on the File menu.

Microsoft Word starts and the document opens in Word.

Note You can use the Microsoft Word 97-2000 Viewer to view documents that were created in Microsoft Word 97, in Microsoft Word 2000, in Microsoft Word 2002, and in Microsoft Office Word 2003.
