  • Softimage Eddie for IRIX, version 3.2b

SUMMARY

In this procedure, you will convert Adobe Illustrator® Type1 fonts in SOFTIMAGE Eddie.

MORE INFORMATION

To complete a conversion successfully, download Adobe Illustrator Type1 fonts for SGI in .pfa format.

Certain modifications must be made before the conversion is possible. Modification of the convert script is found in $EDDIE3DIR/res/fonts. Executable permissions are required for the convert fromtype1 and meshfont scripts.

Procedure

  1. Using a text editor, remove all comments at the beginning of the script that you are converting. The line #!/bin/csh must be the first line.

  2. Add the full pathname that points to fromtype1 and meshfont binaries on both lines of that same name.

  3. Add a .pfa extension (the extension of the font you are converting) after $1/$2.pfa on the fromtype1 line.

Once the script is executed to convert the font, make sure that the font.mf file is in the $EDDIE3DIR/res/fonts directory. Add the font name (without the .pfa extension) to the font.dir file located in the $EDDIE3DIR/res/fonts file.
