SYMPTOMS

When you use a calling card number or long distance access number with the phone number you are attempting to dial, Remote Networking may not automatically dial all the numbers.

CAUSE

Remote Networking cannot automatically dial more than 40 characters at a time.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, manually dial the number. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Tap the Start button, tap Programs, double-tap Communication, and then double-tap Remote Networking.
  2. Tap the icon for the connection that includes the calling card or long phone number string, and then tap Properties on the File menu.
  3. Tap Configure, tap the "Manual Dial (user supplies dial strings)" check box to select it, tap OK, and then tap OK.
  4. Double-tap the connection's icon, and then type your user name, password, and domain (if applicable).
  5. When you tap Connect, a Manual Dial Terminal window is displayed. Type the dialing string using the following format and then tap OK:

    ATDT <dialing string>
