SYMPTOMS
If you change the zoom percentage while in Online view, garbled text may
appear on the screen or you may be unable to scroll to the top of the
document using the PAGE UP or ARROW keys, or the vertical scrollbar.
CAUSE
Using the Zoom control in the Outline view in word may produce garbled
text on the screen. It may also cause the scrolling feature to
malfunction.
WORKAROUND
This is only a screen redraw problem. It does not affect the text or
formatting of the document.
To force a correct redraw of the screen, switch to Normal or Page Layout
view, and then back to Online view.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
This has been fixed in Word 97 and Word 2000.
