PRB: SGI Scene Information Converts To Cubes On NT Machine

The information in this article applies to:
  • Softimage 3D for Windows NT, versions 3.01, 3.51

SYMPTOMS

When you copied scene information from an SGI machine, your models were replaced with cubes.

CAUSE

Possible Cause 1 

   You may be experiencing a permissions problem.
Possible Cause 2 

   If you are using PC-NFS, the Do Not Change Case option may not be
   selected.
Possible Cause 3 

   Your network or hardware configuration may not conform to NT
   specifications.

RESOLUTION

Solution for Cause 1 

   Make sure you have the proper permissions for the scene files you are
   trying to access.
Solution for Cause 2 

   To check that you have selected the Do Not Change Case option for
   File/Directory Create or Rename in Control Panel>PC-NFS Config>Default
   Drive options.
Solution for Cause 3 

   Call your hardware dealer for configuration questions.
