SUMMARY

Set the data cache at 32 byte lines instead of 16 byte lines. To check:

The Dcache size appears near the top of the initial screen during the initial system power-up/reset. You will see Dcache: a number, and then a number in parenthesis. The number is either 16 bytes or 32 bytes.

If the initial screen flashes by too quickly, you can see it again by halting the boot process. To do this:

  1. As the system powers up, select the Run Setup menu option.

  2. Select Initialize System.

  3. Select Display System Settings. Look for the Dcache: parameter in parenthesis.

Icache: is the first cache parameter in this line. The number you want to set is in the second set of parenthesis of this line of text, after Dcache: not after Icache:. To set:

  1. Stop the boot process as the system is initializing by choosing the Run Setup option.

  2. Choose Initialize System.

  3. Choose Set cache parameters and click Yes.

  4. Choose 32 bytes. The system resets and the change takes effect.
